MCA Extends Companies Compliance Facilitation Scheme (CCFS-2026) till 15th Sep, 2026
MCA Extends Companies Compliance Facilitation Scheme (CCFS-2026) to 15 September 2026
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has further extended the Companies Compliance Facilitation Scheme, 2026 (CCFS-2026), giving eligible companies additional time to complete pending statutory filings and regularise their compliance position.
New Deadline: 15 September 2026
Through General Circular No. 04/2026 dated 31 August 2026, the MCA has extended the validity of CCFS-2026 from 31 August 2026 to 15 September 2026. The extension follows representations received from stakeholders seeking additional time.
Importantly, the MCA has clarified that all other terms and conditions of the Scheme remain unchanged.
What is CCFS-2026?
The Companies Compliance Facilitation Scheme, 2026 was introduced by the MCA through General Circular No. 01/2026 dated 24 February 2026. The Scheme provides a one-time opportunity for eligible companies to regularise specified pending filings with the MCA-21 registry and, where applicable, pursue dormant status or closure.
The Scheme operates under the framework of Sections 403 and 460 of the Companies Act, 2013.
Key Benefits Under the Scheme
Since the original terms remain unchanged, eligible companies can continue to avail the concessions provided under CCFS-2026, including:
- Reduced additional fees for specified delayed annual filings.
- An opportunity to regularise pending annual returns and financial statements.
- An option for eligible inactive companies to apply for dormant status.
- An option for eligible companies to proceed with striking off, subject to the conditions of the Scheme.
- Conditional immunity from certain penalties associated with specified defaults, subject to the requirements prescribed under the Scheme.
The Scheme covers specified forms and filings, and eligibility depends on the company’s circumstances and the conditions prescribed by MCA. Therefore, companies should not assume that every pending MCA filing automatically qualifies for the concession.
Companies Should Act Before 15 September
The revised deadline provides only a short additional window. Companies having pending ROC compliances should immediately:
- Review the company’s MCA master data and filing history.
- Identify all pending annual returns, financial statements and other eligible forms.
- Check whether the company satisfies the eligibility conditions of CCFS-2026.
- Arrange the required financial statements, reports, approvals and supporting documents.
- Verify the validity of Digital Signature Certificates (DSCs).
- Complete eligible filings and payments well before 15 September 2026.
- Ensure that the company’s future statutory compliances are brought up to date.
The extension should be viewed as an opportunity to close historical compliance gaps rather than as a general waiver of the company’s continuing obligations under the Companies Act, 2013.
Conclusion
The extension of CCFS-2026 to 15 September 2026 is a significant compliance opportunity for companies with outstanding statutory filings. Businesses should use this additional window carefully and complete eligible filings without waiting for the final day.
